diabetes mellitus

The number of people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Australia is increasing. In addition to high blood glucose, diabetes also increases the risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, infections, nerve numbness and damage, impaired vision, skin dryness and constipation.

Although the severity of diabetes tends to worsen over time, incorporating the same healthy lifestyle changes previously mentioned will help to slow down the rate at which your diabetes control weakens.

For most people, we recommend testing your blood glucose at least twice a day; first thing in the morning before breakfast and two hours after one of your mail meals.

You may test your blood glucose with one of our pharmacists.
